Stop! Don't throw away the spray nozzles! - We help you reduce plastic at home

Nowadays, plastic is present in such large quantities that we, along with the environment, have become victims of its harmful effects. With plastic waste floating in the oceans, microplastics in the air, and the saturation of waste treatment facilities, it is important to reduce plastic wherever we can. CYCLE wants to help its customers effectively with this too!

In addition to the fact that CYCLE eco-cleaners are available in recycled bottles, we want to draw attention to the diverse possibilities of reuse! That's why we're dedicating an entire article to the topic of spray heads. These small devices, which at first glance may not seem like they have a big role, are actually key to creating a plastic-free home.

We have decided that our ready-to-use cleaning products in our webshop no longer come with spray heads . If you buy online, you can now get them with aluminum caps. But don't worry! In the following paragraphs we will explain why we made this decision and how you can get the spray heads.

What is a spray nozzle and why can't it be recycled?

Spray nozzles are found on the top of most cleaning product bottles and make cleaning much easier by controlling the dosage !

And while they may seem very small and insignificant, these complex and sensitive mechanical structures are made up of various plastic components . They can often contain 10 or more parts, including valves, springs, seals, pipes, nozzles. Unfortunately, sorting them out is a major challenge when it comes to recycling. So it’s no surprise that they’re not recycled very often.

Since the beginning of CYCLE production , we have strived to pack our products in as environmentally friendly packaging as possible , but unfortunately we have not found an available alternative for the spray head .

Moreover, spray heads usually end up in the trash after just one use – that is, after the bottle is empty – even though they are designed to be used for up to five years without any problems! – writes zipmagazin.hu

Regular cleaning can extend the life of the spray heads!

Now that we've recognized the potential of our spray heads, it's time to find out how to extend their lifespan! In addition to not throwing them away after the bottle runs out of cleaning agent, don't give up on them if they don't work after one use ! It could just be a minor clog.

Let's see how to clean the spray head:

First, hold the spray head under running water to remove any dirt. Then, place the bottom of the tube in a cup or bowl filled with warm water and spray a few times to force the water up the tube. Continue doing this until the spray head sprays cleanly.

If the spray nozzle is clogged, vinegar and water are the answer!

For this method, remove the spray head from the bottle. Mix vinegar with water in a bowl and place the spray head upside down so that the water can flow into the pipes. Leave it there for a few minutes, then put it back on top of the bottle, wipe it dry and try it.

How do you get a spray head?

You can buy it as a standalone product in our webshop

In our webshop you will find not only cleaning products, but also other accessories. For example, our spray head made of quality materials, which you can add to any of your purchases. These spray heads fit almost all of our products, except for our toilet cleaner, for which we have developed a special, unique, so-called upside-down spray head , which makes it easy to reach the parts under the rim.

You will find a spray head in the starter pack

If you are new to us, we recommend our starter kit , which includes everything you need to start your new, sustainable cleaning habits, including a spray head. If you choose this, all you have to do is fill the empty detergent bottles in the kit with 450ml of water and add the concentrates.

I have a sprinkler at home.

In this case, choose our 10x concentrates , which, as their name suggests, can be diluted in a ratio of 1:10. This way, you can easily make a 500 ml cleaner from a 50 ml concentrate at any time. Don't worry, the preparations don't take more than 20 seconds. Simply add water to make the cleaners from the concentrate quickly and easily.

CYCLE's further steps to reduce plastic

You won't be surprised if we say that this is not the only CYCLE step to reduce plastic waste, right? Our cleaning product bottles are made from 100% recycled plastic. And the ingredients in them are made from recycled and plant-based natural ingredients .

In addition, our blog articles serve as a crutch for sustainable steps. Read more here!
