- Avoid these ingredients: chlorine-containing compounds (e.g. sodium hypochlorite), ammonia, synthetic fragrances and perfumes, phthalates, formaldehyde, phenols, perchloroethylene, methylene chloride, synthetic preservatives and dyes, petroleum derivatives.
- Look for these ingredients: citric acid, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), natural essential oils, water, plant-based surfactants such as sugar surfactants made from cornstarch or plant-based surfactants derived from coconut fat.
